  • ½ cube of yeast, fresh
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 600 ml water, lukewarm
  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp herbs de Provence
  • 200 ml oil
  • some salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

for 2 baking trays

Mix the flour with salt and sugar. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water, add 1 tablespoon of oil and mix. Add the yeast, oil, and water to the flour and knead everything with your hands until you have a smooth dough. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until the dough has almost doubled in size. In the meantime, finely chop the garlic cloves. Mix 200 ml of oil with the herbs and garlic well. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and grease two baking sheets well. Divide the dough in half and roll each out on a floured surface the size of the baking sheet. Line the baking sheets with the dough, brush the dough with the garlic herb oil, sprinkle with a little salt, and bake the bread in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
