Blackberry-banana jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg blackberries, fresh
  • 1 ½ kg gelling sugar, 1:1
  • 3 small bananas, about 500 grams total
  • 2 bags of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Rinse the fresh (preferably home-picked) blackberries several times in a cold water bath. Puree them with the bananas and simmer in a saucepan with the preserving sugar and vanilla sugar for about 3-4 minutes. Pour the mixture into prepared screw-top jars (rinse them with hot water first) and seal tightly. Then turn the filled jars upside down for about 5-8 minutes. This type of jam is perfect for decorating cookies and also as an ingredient in homemade milkshakes.
