For Rust and Against Odors: The Original Use of Tea Bags in the Home

Those housewives who prefer not to lose tea, but in bags, lament that it is a disadvantage – when you reuse the drink is not as tasty. However, the bag can be used for other purposes, such as cleaning surfaces or eliminating insects.

How you can use the sleeping tea bags – options

Tea bags, from which you have already brewed tea, is optimal to use during the cleaning of the apartment. Such a budget remedy will allow you to both drink tea and clean up, the main thing is to act correctly.

For the dishes

First, a wet tea bag can be used to rub on metal kitchen utensils – the tannins in the tea prevent the formation of rust and protect the delicate coating of dishes. Secondly, if you drop the tea bag in a bowl of hot water and then soak the dishes in the same bowl, it will be easier to get rid of grease, even stale ones.

For meats and side dishes

You can get rid of toughness even with loose tea, just not many people know about it. Brew tea from a tea bag, and add water or wine to it. Leave the meat to marinate for a few hours, and then cook it – you will be surprised, but the dish will be fragrant and tender as never before.

You can also conduct an experiment, which usually turns out to be successful – boils water, dips a tea bag in it, and brews some loose tea. Then boil pasta or cereals in this water – a side dish will be unusual, but very pleasant to taste. It is best to use chamomile tea or a version with melissa for such purposes.

Against unpleasant odors

If you have cooked meat or fish, a specific unpleasant smell is definitely left on your hands. Wipe your palms and fingers with a damp tea bag and they’ll smell fresh again.

You can remove unpleasant odors from any surface – kitchen cabinets, trash cans, or refrigerators, for example. You just need to leave dry tea bags in the problematic areas and you will see how the uncomfortable ambergris will disappear in a matter of hours.

For Carpets, Glasses, and Furniture

You can perfectly clean your carpet with a used tea bag – collect 5-10 tea bags, and store them in the refrigerator in a container with water so that they don’t spoil. Then take the tea out of the bags and dry it so it’s slightly damp. Spread the tea over the carpet and vacuum when the teas are dry – the flooring will shine clean and smell nice.

The same goes for windows – if you re-brew the tea, then pour it into a sprayer, spray it on a window or mirror, and then wipe it with a dry cloth, you’ll get a mirror-like clean without streaks. The same technique works in the case of furniture – thanks to tea, you will no longer need expensive polishes.

For plants and against pests

Experienced florists say that tea is very useful for any plant. Make a weak tea solution if you want to protect your flower from fungal infections or sprinkle tea from a bag if you need a quality fertilizer.

Household pests such as mice or spiders are categorically intolerant to the smell of tea. Therefore, you can safely put a few bags in hiding places in your apartment – unwanted neighbors will stop bothering you.

For hair and face

It’s no secret that tea bags are a popular remedy against puffiness and bags under the eyes. You need to put the bags in the refrigerator, and then take them out and put them on your eyes. The caffeine in the tea will reduce puffiness and dark circles, while the antioxidants will ensure good blood circulation. The same technology of using tea bags is suitable for those who suddenly “found” herpes or conjunctivitis – applying a tea bag to the affected area will speed up the healing process.

Useful tip: If you wash your hair with a weak tea solution every time before washing it, your locks will become stronger and their growth will be accelerated.
