Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 sprigs of parsley
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 sprig(s) thyme, fresh (or 0.5 tsp dried)

Tie the fresh herb stems into a small bouquet using kitchen twine. Wrap loose and dried ingredients in a piece of cheesecloth or gauze and tie it into a small bag with kitchen twine. Bouquet garni is used to flavor soups, sauces, and stews. It can be easily removed from the dish at the end of cooking without having to spend a long time fishing for the individual pieces.
