Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 packs of puff pastry
  • 12 pieces of bratwurst (Nuremberg roast sausage)
  • 12 slice(s) bacon or Black Forest ham
  • 12 slice(s) cheese
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Defrost the puff pastry according to the package instructions. Cut the long slices in half and roll them out. Wrap the Nuremberg sausages with cheese and ham. It’s best to place a slice of ham on the bottom, then the cheese, and then the sausage. Then place the wrapped sausage on a slice of puff pastry and wrap it, pressing the ends together firmly. If necessary, use cold water or egg white to seal it. Brush the sausage parcels with egg yolk and bake for 20-25 minutes at 200°C (400°F) with conventional heat. They taste best served lukewarm with a green salad.
