Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250 g bread roll(s) (bread cubes)
  • 100 ml milk
  • 150 ml sparkling mineral water
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Flour, grippy
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chives
  • 1 tsp parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the bread cubes to a large bowl. Mix in the chives, parsley, salt, and egg. Mix the mineral water and milk and slowly drizzle over the bread cubes using the palm of your hand. Stir occasionally. Each cube should be moist and not mushy. If the mixture is too moist, simply add a little more flour. Cover and let stand for 2-5 minutes. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form dumplings with wet hands. Press firmly together to ensure there are no air pockets. Add to the boiling salted water and cook for 10-15 minutes. Cover for the first 5 minutes to ensure the dumplings are large and fluffy. Tip: Fry the bacon cubes and mix them in before the chives, then serve with a mushroom sauce.
