- 2 rolls from the previous day
- 1 large egg(s)
- Milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- butter
- Applesauce (alternatively fruit of your choice)
- Sugar to taste

Variation of Kaiserschmarrn
Halve the rolls with a knife and cut into strips. Place the sliced rolls, egg, salt, and milk (unfortunately, I can’t give you an exact amount of milk. Use just enough so the rolls are no longer dry. The mixture shouldn’t be runny, though) in a bowl. Knead everything into a dough by hand. Melt a knob of butter in a pan and add the mixture to the pan. Break the bread mixture into small pieces with a spatula and fry until lightly browned. Transfer to a plate and serve with sugar and applesauce (or fruit of your choice), to taste.
