Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 6 rolls, old
- 300 ml milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 50 g raisins (if needed)
- possibly powdered sugar
- Butter or margarine
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Bavarian style in the frying pan
Slice the rolls and place them in a large bowl. Whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour this mixture over the rolls, stir in the raisins (if desired), and let stand for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Heat the butter or margarine in a pan, add the mixture, and fry until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve with applesauce, apple compote, or fruit.
