Broccoli with roasted almonds

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g broccoli
  • salt water
  • 125 g almond flakes
  • 125 g butter
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

as a side dish to meat dishes or double the amount with rice as a vegetarian meal

Divide the broccoli into florets, wash, and cook either in salted water or in a steamer until al dente (about 15 minutes, depending on your taste). Meanwhile, toast the flaked almonds in a dry pan and set aside. Drain the broccoli or remove it from the steamer and place it in a bowl. Melt the butter until you smell it starting to brown, then remove it immediately from the heat. Let it cool slightly, then stir in salt, pepper, nutmeg, and a little sugar. Sprinkle the toasted almonds over the broccoli, drizzle with the seasoned butter, and serve.
