Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp rapeseed oil or similar
  • 450 ml water
  • 1 tsp, leveled caraway powder
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pour the oil into a saucepan. Then add the flour and stir everything together. Turn on the heat until the roux bubbles. Then add the water, stirring constantly. Add the caraway seeds, ground nutmeg, soy sauce, sugar, and tomato paste, stirring continuously. Once the sauce has boiled, it’s ready. Tip: If you don’t like caraway seeds, use only half a teaspoon of caraway seeds, 3 tablespoons of tomato paste, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Season with salt.
