Brown sugar meringue

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 100 g sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 300 ml sweet cream, whipped

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat oven to 120°C. Line two baking sheets with baking paper. Mix the two types of sugar and sift twice. Place the egg whites in a bowl and beat until stiff peaks form. Fold in the sugar in small portions and beat the egg whites again until stiff peaks form before adding the next portion. Fill a piping bag with a star-shaped opening with the egg whites. Pipe short stripes or mounds onto the paper. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 2 hours (until the foam is firm and dry and can be easily removed from the paper). Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container. To serve, combine two meringues with whipped cream. Tip: Frozen raspberries go very well with this.
