Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g chocolate (block chocolate, at least 50% cocoa content)
  • 200 g butter
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), scraped pulp
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 g flour
  • 150 g walnuts or pecans, chopped

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Finely chop the chocolate and melt it with the butter in a bain-marie. Add the sugar and vanilla seeds and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the mixture cool, then vigorously beat in the eggs one at a time. Add all the flour and fold in. Fold in the nuts and pour the batter into the buttered pan. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) for 20-30 minutes.
