Lentils with bacon and bread dumplings

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 gr. can/n lentils
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 pack of bacon
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • 1 pack of rolls, diced
  • 2 eggs
  • some flour
  • Salt
  • oil
  • possibly Maggi

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Chop the onion, dice the bacon, and fry both in oil. Add the lentils and their liquid, along with the stock cube, and bring everything to a boil. Place a pot of salted water on the stovetop and bring to a boil. Place the breadcrumbs in a large bowl, add the eggs, a little flour, and salt, and knead everything thoroughly. When the salted water boils, form dumplings with moistened hands and place them in the water. Cook for about 5 minutes, then remove. Serve the lentils and dumplings together. You can also season the lentils with Maggi. It tastes delicious without the bacon, too!
