Buchteln with jam filling

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 200 ml milk
  • 500 g flour
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 80 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • some butter, melted
  • Jam for filling
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Sift the flour and mix with the yeast. Heat the milk with 80g of butter and mix with the powdered sugar, salt, eggs, and rum. Add the flour and mix everything with a food processor or a wooden spoon until you have a smooth dough. It starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes; it should double in size. Cut off small pieces of dough, flatten them slightly, fill them with jam, and seal them. Place them in a buttered dish, brush with butter, and let it rise again. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve once cooled. This dough makes about 6 Buchteln (bunches), with about 587 kcal per Buchteln.
