Bundt cake with applesauce: a simple recipe
For the Bundt cake with applesauce, you will need 180 grams of softened butter, 160 grams of brown sugar, 160 grams of white sugar, three eggs, 340 grams of applesauce, 185 grams of vanilla yogurt, 340 grams of flour, 50 grams of ground almonds, 2½ teaspoons of baking powder, ¾ teaspoon baking soda, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and some ground vanilla.
- First, preheat the oven to 180° top/bottom heat.
- Then mix together the softened butter and both the brown and white sugars. Then add the eggs and beat well until creamy. Then add the ground vanilla, apple sauce, and vanilla yogurt to the batter.
- Then come the dry ingredients like flour, ground almonds, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix everything for three minutes until you have a smooth dough.
- Prepare the Gugelhupf cake tin by greasing it with butter and a little flour or lining it with baking paper. Then fill in the cake batter.
- The cake takes its time – it has to stay in the oven for about 60 minutes. However, do the knife test at regular intervals so that it is not too dry.
- When the cake has cooled a little, you can sprinkle some icing sugar on top and serve with cream or fruit compote.
