Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 400 g sugar
  • 150 g almond flakes or sticks
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 ml whipped cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Preheat the oven to 175°C fan/convection oven. Whisk 300g of sugar with the eggs until frothy, then stir in the flour, baking powder, and buttermilk until smooth. Spread this batter onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the batter, along with the flaked or slivered almonds. Bake the cake in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes. Remove the baking sheet briefly, spread the cream evenly over the cake, and return it to the oven for another 5-10 minutes. The cake is ready when it is lightly golden brown.
