Buttermilk potato patties with bacon crusts

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 800 g potatoes
  • 300 g jacket potatoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 125 ml buttermilk
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds, or less
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pepper, black ground
  • 100 g bacon, bacon cubes, crispy fried
  • 50 g clarified butter, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely grate the peeled raw potatoes and the jacket potatoes and mix together. Combine the chopped onion and garlic clove with buttermilk and add the seasoning. Fold in the crispy fried bacon cubes. Form portion-sized patties on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and roast at 180°C (350°F) for about 1 hour until crispy and brown.
