Buttermilk rolls

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 350 g wheat flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50 g butter, soft
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150 ml buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp milk, 1.5%

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add the butter and knead. This is best done by hand. In a second bowl, beat the buttermilk and egg until fluffy. Add the flour and butter mixture and knead into a dough. Once you have a homogeneous, smooth consistency, form approximately 12 dough balls. Preheat the oven to 220°C (top/bottom heat) or 190°C (fan oven). Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush with milk. Bake for approximately 15 minutes.
