Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 225 g wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp oil, neutral
  • 200 ml buttermilk
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Traditional rolls from England

Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the buttermilk and oil, and knead using the dough hook of a hand mixer. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 2 cm and cut out round rolls using a glass (approx. 5 cm in diameter). This dough will make enough for 8-10 rolls. Bake at 220°C for 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned. They taste best fresh and still lukewarm! Variations: Mix with raisins, if desired, or sprinkle with cheese (it’s best to brush with a little milk to help the cheese crumbs adhere).
