Cake: Moist Butter Crumble Cake

The perfect cake: moist butter crumble cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Whipped cream
  • 3 Cans Mandarin oranges, 312 ml each
  • 4 piece Eggs
  • 1 pack Vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 middle Egg yolk
  • 1 middle Organic lime, peel zest
  • 1 pack + 1 tsp Backpulver
  • 325 g Sugar
  • 650 g Wheat flour
  • 350 g Soft butter

For the sprinkles:

  1. Melt 1,100 g butter, allow to cool, mix 200 g flour, 100 g sugar and 1 teaspoon baking powder.
  2. Add the egg yolk, lime zest and melted butter to the flour mixture.
  3. First work with the dough hook of the mixer, then with your hands into crumble and chill.

For the dough:

  1. Mix 4,250 g butter, salt, 225 g sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy. Mix the eggs, mix 450 g of flour and 1 pack of baking powder and place on top. Stir in together with the whipped cream.
  2. Grease the oven’s drip pan and dust it with flour. Pour in the dough and smooth it out.

For covering:

  1. Drain the mandarin oranges well and distribute them evenly on the dough and sprinkle the crumble on top.
  2. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for about 40 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack.
  3. Cut the streusel cake into pieces and serve.

Variant:

  1. If you want, you can decorate the cake with chocolate. To do this, melt 50 g dark chocolate couverture, fill it in a small freezer bag, cut off a small corner and pull strips onto the cake. Also very tasty!
