Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 250 g sugar
  • 250 g margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy. Meanwhile, bring the margarine to a boil. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir into the egg mixture. Stir the boiling margarine (important!!!) into the batter. Add rum or lemon if desired. Or you can add nuts or cocoa powder, depending on your taste. Place the cake in a greased and breadcrumb-coated loaf pan. Bake at 200°C for about 40 minutes. Tip: After 15 minutes, score the cake lengthwise with a sharp knife to help it rise.
