Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g aronia berries
- ½ liter red wine
- 1 orange(s), organic
- 1 cinnamon stick(s)
- 4 carnations
- 1 bag(s) of citric acid
- 300 g gelling sugar 3:1
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 24 minutes
Cut the orange, including the peel, into small pieces and bring to a boil with the red wine, cinnamon stick, and cloves (alternatively, you could use two sachets of mulled wine spice). Remove the spices and mash the orange pieces with a hand blender. Heat the gelling sugar, melt it, and brown it until it caramelizes—be careful, if it gets too dark, it’s bitter! Then pour in the orange and red wine (careful—it will splash!) and add the aronia berries. Purée with a hand blender, then stir in the citric acid. Boil for 3-4 minutes until bubbly. Test for setting. Pour into sterilized jars, seal immediately, turn the jars upside down for 5 minutes, and finally label them.
