Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 kg carrot(s), grated
- 1 liter of milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 250 g raisins
- 100 g walnuts, chopped
- cardamom
- Walnuts, chopped, for sprinkling
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Afghan dessert
Bring the milk to a boil in a large pot on the stove. Add the carrots and stir. Wait, stirring occasionally, until the milk has evaporated, then add the sugar and stir. Finally, add the raisins and walnuts and stir. Turn off the heat and transfer the halva to a large, flat plate, garnishing it with a few walnuts and cardamom. Serve best with tea.
