Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 m.-large cauliflower
  • 4 m.-large tomato(s), likes to go, can peel them
  • 6 slice(s) of bread, dark, may be older
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • some oil for frying
  • 250 g minced beef
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 small jar of tomato paste
  • 200 g cheese for topping or leftover cheese from the refrigerator
  • some salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Cut the bread into small pieces and fry in butter like croutons. Then place in a casserole dish. Cut the cauliflower into small pieces as desired and cook in boiling water (just a little, about 1/4 liter!) for about 5 to 6 minutes until al dente. Collect the cooking water and set the cauliflower aside. Brown the ground beef until crisp, add the crushed garlic, and deglaze with the cauliflower cooking water. Season the sauce with tomato paste, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar, then pour it into the casserole dish. Thinly slice the tomatoes and add them to the casserole dish along with the cauliflower. If desired, toss the casserole lightly, then sprinkle with grated cheese and bake at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 20 minutes, until the cheese is nice and crispy.
