Caveman Steak with Whiskey Onions

The perfect caveman steak with whiskey onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 piece Ribeye steak
  • 2 piece Onion
  • 10 ml Whiskey
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  1. Peel the onions and cut into 3 – 5 mm wide rings. Put the onion rings in a bowl and mix with the whiskey, salt and sugar. Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
  2. Let the coals glow in a chimney and place in a brazier. Place the beef steak directly on the coals without the grill. Leave the meat directly on the coals for about 2 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness (in my case 2cm). Remove the meat and cover with a lid and let it stand for 5 minutes.
  3. Squeeze the onions vigorously and stew them in a pan until they are translucent. Serve the meat sprinkled with the onions and a little pepper after resting.
