Cevapcici with Bell Peppers, Ajvar and Spicy Onions
The perfect cevapcici with bell peppers, ajvar and spicy onions recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the vegetables
- 1 Pc. Onion
- 3 Pc. Red peppers
- 3 Pc. Peppers yellow
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 2 teaspoon Vegetable stock powder
- 1 teaspoon Sweet paprika powder
For the cevapcici
- 1 Pc. Onion
- 2 Pc. Cloves of garlic
- 1 Pc. Egg
- 500 g Ground beef
- Salt pepper
- 0,5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon Rose paprika powder
- Oil for frying
- Ajvar (spicy) -depending on taste
- Peel the onion for the vegetables and cut into fine rings. Quarter, peel and core the peppers, then cut into bite-sized pieces. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and sauté the onions and peppers for 5-6 minutes while stirring. Add the spices and the stocking powder, possibly some water. Put a lid on the pan and cook the vegetables al dente.
- For the cevapcici, peel the onion and garlic and cut into very fine cubes. Add to the minced meat together with the egg and knead well. Add the spices and season well. Shape the meat dough into approx. 6 cm long, finger-thick rolls. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the rolls until crispy.
- Arrange vegetables, cevapcici, ajvar and hot onions and enjoy.
