Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g powdered sugar
  • 250 g margarine
  • 250 g yogurt
  • 250 g flour
  • 200 g poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 600 g mandarin orange(s), peeled, cut into wedges
  • 150 g margarine
  • 300 g chocolate

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Poppy seed slices with sunken mandarin orange slices and chocolate glaze

Mix eggs, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, margarine, yogurt, poppy seeds, cinnamon, flour, and baking powder into a fluffy batter. Spread the batter onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper and evenly distribute the mandarin orange slices. Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 40 minutes. Melt the margarine and chocolate (chocolate of your choice) over a pan of simmering water and stir until smooth. Pour over the cooled cake and spread.
