Cheese and ham muffins

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 100 g ham, cooked
  • 60 g butter
  • 200 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg, grated
  • 100 g cheese, grated (Emmental)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 200 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Suitable for children and as finger food; serve warm if possible

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C; grease a muffin tin or use paper baking cups. Cut the ham into small cubes. Melt the butter. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, then mix in the nutmeg, cheese, and ham. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and cooled butter. Carefully fold this mixture into the flour mixture. Spoon the mixture into the muffin tins. Bake for 15-20 minutes on the middle rack (convection oven only at 180 degrees C) until golden brown. Sprinkle some cheese crumbles on the muffins after 8 minutes, if desired. Remove from the oven and let rest in the tin for 5 minutes before removing. Serve – done.
