Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 125 g butter
  • 2 jars applesauce, 360 g each
  • 6 eggs
  • 150 g butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 6 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 kg quark
  • 5 tbsp semolina
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dough: Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add the egg yolks, melted butter, and knead everything into crumbles. Spread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (I always leave a raised edge on the sides in case any spillage occurs), and press down. Chill. Topping: Spread the applesauce on top. Separate the eggs. Beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the lemon juice, quark, egg yolks, and semolina and mix. Beat the egg whites until stiff, fold into the quark mixture, and spread on the baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 45-50 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
