Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 60 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • some lemon peel
  • 150 g soft wheat semolina
  • 150 g flour
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 large jar of sour cherries
  • some butter, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the vanilla sugar, lemon zest, eggs, and semolina. Combine the flour and baking powder and stir in alternately with the milk. The batter should be smooth, but not too stiff. Drain the cherries and carefully fold them into the batter. Transfer everything to a greased baking dish, dotted with butter, and bake on the middle shelf at medium heat (175°C in my oven) for about 40-50 minutes. The casserole should have a light brown color. We serve it with vanilla sauce. 750 kcal per serving.
