Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 4 rolls
  • 4 large apples
  • Sultana’s
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • Fat for the mold
  • some breadcrumbs
  • e.g. butter flakes
  • n. B. cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Bread, apple and raisin casserole

Cut the rolls into thin slices. Finely slice the apples. Whisk the eggs with the milk, sugar, and cinnamon. Grease a baking dish well. Layer the roll slices, apples, and raisins alternately in the baking dish. Top with the roll slices. Pour the egg wash over the rolls. Finally, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, butter flakes, sugar, and cinnamon. Preheat the oven to 175°C (top/bottom heat). Bake the casserole for about one hour. Serve with hot vanilla sauce.
