Chicken breast with cooked ham and cheese crust

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 chicken breast fillets
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 1 bunch of thyme
  • some sugar
  • 130 g cheese (Gruyere), grated
  • some jam (cranberry)
  • some balsamic vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Rinse the chicken breast fillets, pat dry, and halve. Season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken fillets until golden brown. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Wrap each fillet with a slice of cooked ham and sprinkle with cheese. Place the meat in a baking dish and scatter the thyme sprigs on top. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. Plate the meat, spoon some cranberry jam onto the plate, and garnish with a few drizzles of balsamic vinegar. Serve with a green salad.
