Cut off the crust all around and then flatten the slice with a rolling pin. Spread with applesauce and roll it up. Place the roll on a heatproof surface and microwave for 60 seconds at 600 watts. Then let it cool for about 5 minutes. Even if the bread is cold on the outside, the applesauce is often still quite hot, so kids could burn themselves. Eat within 48 hours. You can also use other fruit purees or other types of bread. Seeded breads have proven to be a good choice.
