Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 40 g butter
- 2 tsp flour
- 300 ml milk
- 1 chili pepper(s), depending on the desired spiciness
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 6 slices of processed cheese (sandwich cheese)
- Paprika powder
- smoked salt
- Fondor
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Finely chop the chili pepper. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Slowly pour the milk into the pan, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add the chopped chili and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the cheddar and sandwich cheese in small batches and stir until the cheese slices are melted and the sauce is nice and creamy. Season with paprika, smoked salt, and Fondor to taste. Stir in the sour cream to make the sauce even creamier. Let the sauce cool, if desired, and then spoon it over the burgers.
