Chili con Carne – minced steaks

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 roll from the day before
  • Water for soaking
  • 100 g corn from the can
  • 2 bell peppers, colored
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tsp mustard, medium hot
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying
  • 3 stalks of parsley, flat
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • e.g. chili pepper(s)
  • e.g. parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Soak the bread roll in cold water. Drain the corn. Dice the bell peppers. Finely dice the onion. Score the chili lengthwise, remove the seeds, and finely chop. Squeeze the bread roll dry. Knead the prepared ingredients with the minced meat, parsley, and egg. Season with salt, pepper, and mustard. Form the minced meat mixture into 8 steaks. Heat the oil in a griddle pan. Fry the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side and serve garnished with chili peppers and parsley, if desired.
