Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g lard
  • 50 g onion(s)
  • 50 g apple
  • 30 g chili pepper(s)
  • 2 medium-sized garlic cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ¼ tsp thyme, shredded
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finely dice the onion, apple, chili, and garlic cloves. Heat the lard, add the bay leaf, and the small diced onion, apple, chili, and garlic. Continue heating until the onions begin to brown. Cool the pot slightly in cold water, remove the bay leaf, and stir in the thyme and salt. Allow to cool completely, stirring occasionally to ensure everything is well mixed. Delicious on fresh farmhouse bread. Also topped with sausage or cheese.
