Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g onion(s)
  • 40 g butter
  • 250 ml broth
  • 150 g cheese (Gouda)
  • 100 g processed cheese with salami
  • 40 g butter
  • 40 g cornstarch
  • 100 ml broth
  • 300 ml cream
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • some chili, fresh, as needed

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the onions and chop them into small pieces. Melt 40g of butter and fry the onions. Pour in 250ml of stock and simmer until the onions are soft. In another pot, melt 40g of butter and stir in the cornstarch. Deglaze with cream and 100ml of stock and melt the cheese. Season with chili powder and salt. Add fresh chili if desired and season with sugar to taste. Now stir the onion mixture into the cheese sauce. Serve with pasta or meatballs, for example.
