Ingredients for 24 servings:

  • ½ cup margarine for baking
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup sugar, white
  • ¾ cup sugar, brown
  • 1 pack butter vanilla flavoring
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1 tsp, crushed baking soda or baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate (chocolate chips)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

American cookies

Preheat the oven to 175°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream the softened butter with margarine and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix well with the batter and vanilla extract. Now stir in the salt and baking soda. Gradually add the flour and mix well. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips. Using a tablespoon, drop walnut-sized blobs onto the baking sheet. There’s no need to shape the cookies, as they will melt in the oven. Do not bake for longer than 8-10 minutes! Remove them from the oven as soon as they start to brown. Remove from the baking sheet with the paper on and let cool.
