- 450 g dark chocolate

Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
For 20 American chocolate cookies
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Melt the dark chocolate with the butter in a double boiler and then let it cool to room temperature. In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar on high speed for about 5 minutes until fluffy. Slowly stir the cooled dark chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Then add the flour mixture. Stir in the chopped walnuts and the remaining chocolate. Place tablespoon-sized heaping cookies on the baking sheet, making sure there is about 2-4 cm of space between each cookie, as they will expand over time. Bake for about 12-15 minutes at 180°C (top and bottom heat). The cookies should then have cracks, a soft center, and be not completely firm. Makes about 20 cookies.
