Chocolate Orange Cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g raw cane sugar (brown sugar)
  • 340 g orange marmalade, bitter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting OR:
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 50 g cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

with dark chocolate and bitter orange marmalade, from a 26 cm springform pan

Place baking paper into the base of a 26 cm springform pan. Grease the edges generously with butter. Preheat the oven to 175°C (top/bottom heat). Melt the butter and chocolate in a medium saucepan, stirring continuously. Let cool. Add the sugar and jam and mix everything together. Whisk the eggs with the salt, then stir into the chocolate mixture. Mix the flour and baking powder and stir in a spoonful at a time. Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes (test with a skewer). Remove from the pan only after it has cooled completely. Dust with powdered sugar or cover with a chocolate and cream glaze.
