Chocolate soup with snowflakes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 ½ liters of milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 point pudding powder, vanilla, or chocolate, then it will be even more chocolatey
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Bring the milk to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir the egg yolk and the remaining ingredients into a little water. When the milk boils, add the mixed powder while stirring vigorously with a whisk. Bring back to a boil briefly, then remove from the heat. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and drop them in small heaps onto the hot soup with a spoon. Cover and let stand for a few minutes. We’ve had this for dinner on the first snowfall since I was about 3. I think it’s a lovely tradition and will continue it with my daughter.
