Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 liter orange juice
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 8 carnations
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 lemon(s), juice
  • 1 piece(s) lemon peel, to taste
  • 1 piece(s) orange peel, to taste
  • 200 ml Campari or Aperol

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 15 minutes

with Campari or Aperol

The day before: Heat the orange and lemon juice, add the spices and citrus zest, and let it steep overnight. To serve, divide the ice cubes and 200 ml of Campari or Aperol into 8 glasses, pour the orange mixture through a sieve over the top, and garnish the glasses as desired. If you don’t have any spices at home, you can use two sachets of mulled wine spices instead.
