Christmas Cookies: Nut – Marzipan Thaler Approx. 90 Pieces
The perfect christmas cookies: nut – marzipan thaler approx. 90 pieces recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Dough :
- 250 g Sifted flour
- 0,5 Teaspoon (level) Baking powder
- 80 g Sugar
- 1 Pc. Egg yolk
- 2 tablespoon Water
- 125 g Cold butter
- 150 g Ground hazelnuts
coat:
- 1 glass Red currant jelly
Mix the marzipan:
- 350 g Marzipan raw mass
- 200 g Powdered sugar
Brush on top:
- 100 g Dark couverture
- Or :
- 75 g Powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
Ornament:
- 10 Pc. Skinned almonds, halved
- 20 Pc. Shelled walnuts
- 0,5 packet Candied cherries
- Pistachios
- Granulated sugar
Dough :
- Sift the flour and baking powder, add sugar + vanilla sugar, egg yolk + water.
- Add the butter pieces + hazelnuts and knead well. Wrap in foil and put in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. But you can also prepare and process it the next day.
- Cut out dough thinly approx., Roll out round cookies 2 mm thick and bake at 175 ° C for approx. 12 minutes. Let cool down.
Currant jelly :
- Brush with a little currant jelly.
Raw marzipan:
- Knead the marzipan and powdered sugar together well. Cut out the marzipan in the same shape and place on the currant jelly.
Tip :
- Sometimes raw marzipan is very dry, you can now add a little rose water (pharmacy) or just 1-2 teaspoons of water.
- Melt the couverture, spread the marzipan on top and decorate immediately.
