Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 150 ml coconut milk (can)
  • 50 ml rum, good (maybe more)
  • 4 egg whites
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • some nutmeg, ground
  • ½ packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Christmas like in America

In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks until thick and creamy. Gradually mix in the coconut milk, sugar, vanilla sugar, vanilla bean seeds, and milk. Beat the egg whites in another bowl with a mixer until stiff peaks form, then add to the bowl. Now add the rum and serve the eggnog either in 5 large glasses or simply in the bowl (just like in America!!!). Finally, sprinkle with nutmeg. Condensed milk can be used as an alternative to coconut milk.
