Cinnamon – Apples with a Twist

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 apples (Boskop)
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp raisins
  • 4 tbsp rum
  • 3 tbsp almonds, chopped
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Heat the rum with the raisins and let stand until the raisins are soft and saturated. Peel the apples, quarter them, remove the cores, and cut into small pieces. Drizzle with the lemon juice. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and add the apples, brown sugar, and vanilla sugar. Brown everything, stirring gently, until the sugar caramelizes slightly. Then add the almonds and raisins, season with cinnamon, and serve. This dessert goes well with vanilla sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
