Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 liter of schnapps, grain spirit (33%) OR grappa (40%)
  • 10 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 100 g sugar

Instructions

not just a treat at Christmas

Combine the starter grain OR grappa and the cinnamon sticks in a tall preserving jar, seal it tightly, and let it steep in a cool, dark place for about 35 days. Shake the jar well at least once a week. Strain the starter through a fine-mesh sieve, adding sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour the cinnamon liqueur into a tightly sealed bottle. The liqueur will keep for about 4-5 months if kept tightly sealed.
