Cola – drink or cleaning agent?
Coca-Cola is one of the most valuable brands in history alongside Apple, Google, and Microsoft. Ever since cola was invented in 1886, the dark concoction has been sold as a drink.
Few people are aware, however, that the pH of cola is roughly the same as the pH of battery acid. Due to its caustic properties, the soft drink, which is popular worldwide, is more suitable as a cleaning agent, e.g. B. for toilets. After a short exposure time, the toilet bowl is wonderfully decalcified.
Even truck drivers who deliver this “toilet cleaner” have long had another use for the product – they use it to clean their vehicle’s engine, which has brought wonderful results.
More practical application tips for cola
Try it yourself! And put the cola to the test. You will be delighted with your new cleaning agent.
- Dip a piece of cloth or a sponge in Coke and you can use it to easily remove rust stains on metal.
- Put some coke on your garage floor and let the soda soak there – any oil stains from your car will be gone after rinsing.
- Soak some coke on the carpet, wipe it with water and possible stains are gone.
- If your child gets gum in their hair, soak the affected area in coke for a few minutes and the gum will come off the hair.
- Do you have grease or blood stains on your clothes? Then put some coke on the affected area and the stain is gone.
- Did you get some mortar on the floor while laying the tiles? Leave the cola on the floor to soak for a while and then wipe it off with water – your floor will shine like new.
- It is also known that cola can dissolve a tooth if it is placed in a container. It takes a while, but the tooth dissolves. So why would you want to drink a “descaler” and risk damaging your teeth?
