Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g cheese, Gouda
  • 750 g butter
  • 125 g milk
  • 1,000 g flour
  • 6 egg yolks, boiled
  • salt and pepper
  • Egg yolk, for brushing
  • Grains, for sprinkling
  • Paprika powder, sweet

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Mix the cheese, boiled egg yolks, butter (the butter shouldn’t be too cold), salt, paprika, and pepper well. Finally, knead in the flour. Place the dough in the refrigerator for an hour. Then roll it out to a thickness of about 7mm. Cut out any desired shape and place it on a baking sheet lined with paper. Brush with egg yolk and decorate as desired. For example, almonds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, cheese, bacon, caraway seeds, etc. Bake at 200 degrees (top/bottom heat) for about 10-15 minutes.
