Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 25 g butter or margarine, soft
  • 1 tbsp caraway seeds, ground
  • 100 ml low-fat milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

In a bowl, combine the flour with the ground caraway seeds, add the salt and butter, and mix everything thoroughly by hand (or use the dough hook on a hand mixer if necessary). Gradually add the milk and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cut a piece of baking paper to the size of the baking sheet. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2-3 mm (or in batches if necessary) and cut into squares with sides measuring about 4 cm. Place the baking paper and dough onto the baking sheet and place in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 10 minutes. This quantity makes about 60 loaves. Tips: They also taste great sprinkled with whole caraway seeds. You can also vary them by mixing grated hard cheese, various herbs, garlic powder, or chili powder into the dough—depending on your taste—or whatever you have on hand and suits your needs. Simply mix it with the flour at the beginning. They’re super quick, very easy, low in fat, inexpensive, and great for varying your recipes. They’re great with red wine.
