Boil applesauce: This is how it works without a preserving pot
Preserving apples makes them last longer. If you want to make applesauce but don’t have a preserving pot at home, you can still do it with the following ingredients and utensils:
- 2 kg of apples
- 150 grams of sugar
- 200ml of water
- 1 lemon
- cooking pot
- blender
- mason jars
How to turn your apples into applesauce
As soon as you have all the ingredients and utensils together, you can start crafting.
- First, peel all the apples. Then cut each apple into four pieces and remove the core.
- Then cut each piece into small cubes.
- Then put the apple pieces in a saucepan with the water and sugar and heat the ingredients over medium-high heat.
- Then cover the pot with a lid and let the mixture stew until the apples soften.
- As soon as the apples are soft, you can puree them with a hand blender. Then add the sugar and lemon juice to the pureed apples and let the mixture boil up briefly.
- Then fill the finished apple sauce into your sterile preserving jars and immediately screw on the lid. If you store the homemade applesauce in a cool and dark place, it can be kept for about a year.
